Welcome, Jessica Hughes Wagner!

The CHC is excited to announce that Jessica Hughes Wagner has accepted a new Assistant Director position with the CHC, effective June 1.

Jessica brings an impressive background and array of experiences in public health, health communication, and advertising to her new role with the CHC. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with dual degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Anthropology. Jessica returned to UNC-Chapel Hill, where she received her Master of Public Health degree with a focus in health communication from the Gillings School of Global Public Health.

Jessica’s career has included time at Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing and Ogilvy Public Relations. Most recently, she led the University Health Services Office of Health Promotion, where her team developed programs, policies, and health communication campaigns to support the health of UT students.

In her new role with the CHC, Jessica will be essential to planning and executing the CHC mission of advancing evidence-based health communication research, education, and community involvement. Her existing relationships across UT, particularly University Health Services as a valued CHC partner, will help the CHC continue to build relationships and collaborate across campus.

Jessica has been a valued colleague of many CHC faculty and graduate students from the moment she arrived on campus. We are excited that she is formally joining our team and look forward to how she will contribute to the CHC in the coming years.
