Ten years ago, at 6 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2013, radio host Susan Castle played the very first song on Austin’s KUTX 98.9 radio, Willie Nelson’s “Bloody Mary Morning." A decade later, the radio station has become known as "the sound of Austin" and is a springboard for musicians across the country. Read more.

John Peyton is a nontraditional student whose rubbed elbows with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Darrell K Royal. He served in the Air Force and is a grandfather of two. In May, he'll graduate from Moody College at 64, after a 30-year college hiatus. Read his story.
