One of the unique features of the Moody College Honors Program is the senior capstone experience, which offers three options: thesis, project, and a reflection essay. On April 28, the fruits of our multidisciplinary capstone were on vivid display in the main lobby of Dealey Center for New Media, as seniors showcased their research and projects at our first-annual capstone poster session.

Guan Soon Khoo, Associate Professor of Instruction, who leads the capstone classes for Honors Thesis and Honors Project, helped guide student work throughout the semester and prepare them for the poster session. He also helped select two awards for outstanding work on a thesis and independent project.

For her autobiographical video essay called “Inside Out, Outside In,” Jennifer Xia was awarded the Honors Project of Distinction. "This work displays a sophisticated self-awareness and maturity along with an understanding of social/cultural issues. Jennifer shows that making a video essay can be a form of healing,” wrote Khoo. 

Winner of the Honors Thesis of Distinction was Reagan Fuller. “Reagan’s thesis is a well-conceived study on speech pathologists' perceptions of the federal child referral program called ChildFind,” said Khoo. “With Dr. Lugo-Neris, Reagan collected data from speech pathologists across Texas and will be analyzing their data and reporting their findings.”

In total, 12 students presented their work at the poster session. Below is a list of students and the titles of  their projects, which ranged from research papers and film scripts to blogs, videos and practical guidebooks.
