CHC Welcomes Program Manager: Melanie Susswein

Say hello to Melanie!

Melanie Susswein is excited to join the Center for Health Communications as the Program Manager— Texas Children’s Mental Health Care Consortium.

Melanie is an award-winning social marketing communicator and project director. She joined The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Institute on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault. Melanie’s portfolio includes extensive work on violence prevention, women’s health, work with and on behalf of children with special healthcare needs and disabilities, and a wide array of diverse populations in Texas and around the country. Melanie moved to Texas from the East Coast in 2001 for what was supposed to be a five-year experiment. She earned her MSW at the University of Pennsylvania and completed a year of service in Israel for a domestic violence prevention program. Melanie loves to travel, swim, hike, kayak, play Mahjong, and spend time with family and friends. Her other loves include Rocky, the cutest dog ever.
