CHC Welcomes Copywriter: Lauren Pezzullo

Say hello to Lauren!

Lauren Pezzullo is delighted to join the Center for Health Communication as a Copywriter for the substance use disorder screener project.

After earning her undergraduate English degree from George Mason University, Lauren kick-started her writing career in Washington, DC before returning to Texas for good. She worked as a writer and editor for a variety of organizations, including an academic publisher, a boutique book publisher, a green energy startup, and an award-winning content marketing agency. She covered a wide range of topics but focused especially on climate change and sustainable living. Her diverse portfolio includes publications such as Austin Monthly, Edible Communities, AlterNet, and more.

Most recently, she fueled her passion for social causes into her work as a freelance writer. A lifelong bibliophile, Lauren also helped launch Literati’s Luminary book club app alongside Golden State Warrior Steph Curry. Here, she wrote content to inspire meaningful discussion for books with a focus on social issues and inclusivity.

When she’s not conjuring words, Lauren loves to read, travel, create stop-motion movies, play guitar, and dote on her adorable kittens.
