Creative and Production
Creative is the Core of Moody
Moody College encourages creativity across disciplines, giving students the opportunity to collaborate with their classmates both within and outside of their majors to create exceptional bodies of work, from strategic campaigns to award-winning films and in-depth storytelling. We encourage you to build confidence in yourself through hands-on practice with the support of experienced faculty. This includes opportunities to work within classes or internships and for Texas Student Media publications such as The Daily Texan student newspaper, The Drag podcasting production house, Bevo Video Productions and more.
Made at Moody
Moody College students working for The Drag Audio produce award-winning podcasts on topics from true crime to criminal justice, as well as the college’s own “What It’s Like,” podcast, which showcases compelling narratives from alumni, faculty, students and friends of Moody College who have achieved success in communication fields. The Drag Audio is part of the college’s commitment to providing students with the latest skills and hands-on, life-changing experiences.

Proud Home of KUT and KUTX
We are proud to call Moody College the home of Austin’s own NPR station, KUT, and the renowned music station, KUTX, the “Austin Music Experience.” These two public radio stations offer in-depth news coverage told through a local lens, as well as an exploration of Austin’s music, lifestyle and culture. With studios on the first floor of the G.B. Dealey Center for New Media, students get a glimpse at radio hosts in action, as well as opportunities to intern and work for the stations after graduation.
Award-winning Creative
Radio-Television-Film professors Cindy McCreery and Andrew Shea collaborated with students, faculty and alumni from Moody College on the award-winning film “I’ll Be There.” It recently took home the 2023 Austin Film Festival Audience Award and will be distributed by the film and media company, Buffalo8.
