Transforming Orphanages
AUSTIN, Texas – March 21, 2017 – The Moody College of Communication will host Miracle Foundation founder Caroline Boudreaux on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Belo Center for New Media second floor auditorium (BMC 2.106) at 3:30 p.m. as part of the Inaugural Communication and Leadership Speaker Series. The speaker series is in conjunction with a new interdisciplinary undergraduate degree that prepares students for leadership in the nonprofit and public sectors. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Moody College’s Communication and Leadership Degree Program and the Center for Health Communication.

BACKGROUND: Caroline Boudreaux is founder of the Miracle Foundation, a nonprofit that has transformed the standards for orphanages in India. Before starting the Miracle Foundation, Boudreaux was a highly successful media salesperson. During a trip to India she visited an orphanage, which proved to be a transformative experience for her and led her to start the Miracle Foundation.
Boudreaux’s story of the founding and evolution of the Miracle Foundation includes lessons related to leadership, communication and social change. After the event, she will meet with Communication and Leadership students for a small group discussion.
