Moody College of Communication is proud to announce that the Department of Radio-Television-Film (RTF) was recently named the number two public film school, number seven overall, in The Wrap’s annual list of the top 50 film schools in the country! This is the highest ranking the department has received on the list thus far.

“I’m incredibly proud that our department continues to earn national recognition for how effectively we prepare students for careers in the film industry,” said Cindy McCreery, RTF department chair. “This ranking reflects our faculty’s dedication and our students’ talent. They leave Moody ready to tell bold stories and make their mark in Hollywood and beyond.”

The Wrap compiled its list through data-driven research based on factors like student-faculty ratios, graduation rates and the number and type of hands-on experiences schools offer students.

Over the past year in RTF and throughout Moody College, students have had multiple opportunities to put what they’re learning into practice, whether on film sets or in the writer’s room. Students of any major can now also minor in RTF, advertising or digital game industries, exposing them to several exciting aspects of the entertainment industry.

Moody College faculty and staff will continue delivering these innovative experiences to students to prepare them for life after graduation and beyond!
