With two master's degrees in composition for film and audiovisual media at the University of Bristol (U.K.) and New York University -NYU- (U.S.A.), Rodrigo has more than 50 credits in all types of productions. He has composed original music for film, theater, television, dance and concert music for companies such as Beanca Films, Fox Searchlight, Fox, Televisa, TV Azteca, DoComo USA, Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra, OPMA TV, Compañía Nacional de Danza, Kinesis, ILCE, DGTVE, Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, Grupo Historias, Marionetas de la Esquina, etc. in cities in America and Europe.
Since January 2018, he has been a member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA) of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in Mexico (FONCA).
He composed the original music for the film La Gran Promesa (Beanca Films, 2018), directed by Jorge Ramírez Suárez, nominated for the Diosa de Plata 2019, becoming the first Mexican score to be produced at the legendary Air Studios in London. He also composed the music for the film Guten Tag, Ramón (Beanca Films 2014, Mexico-Germany) directed by Jorge Ramírez-Suárez, performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra (SIF309) and mixed at Air studios in London, whose theatrical release generated a great response from the public and critics in Mexico, the United States, Germany, and several Latin American countries. The Blu-Ray edition of the film (Fox Home Entertainment) includes the CD with the music of the film, winner of the 2015 "Manuel Esperón" Silver Goddess for original music and nominated for best original music in the Drama category at the Reel Music Awards 2014 (UK). Rodrigo composed the music in tribute to the career of Roberto Gómez Bolaños and the international franchise of El Chavo for Televisa. He also composed the music for the film La Niña de la Mina (Leow Films-Videocine, 2016), directed by Jorge Eduardo “Tocayo” Ramírez, ranked in the Top 20 at the Mexican cinema box office in 2016.
Additional premieres include the World Premiere of “Emotions in Motion” by the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra (2019), and “Reinventing Happiness” by the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra (2011), both in Poland ; “Extremos” by the Cuarteto Extremo in México (2008), among many others.
Rodrigo has taught numerous courses and workshops on music for film and music for theater in Mexico (UNAM, ITESM, PROCINE, Hellenic Cultural Center, etc.) and in Colombia (Instituto de las Artes de Colombia). Since 2017, he has been a professor of Music Production for visual media at the REC Música Center for Musical Studies (Berklee International Network). And since 2023, he has also been a professor of the concentration in Composition for digital media at the Tec de Monterrey (Puebla).
