Founded in 2018 by Co-Directors Dr. Alisa Perren and Dr. Wenhong Chen, the Center for Entertainment & Media Industries (CEMI) was created to serve as the nexus point between industry and academy in the Moody College of Communication.
In 2023, Dr. Alisa Perren became full director and reaffirmed the Center’s focus on the Texas Media Ecosystem.

CEMI believes that investing in the media industries starts right here in Texas, and works to map, strengthen, and facilitate connections within the Texas media industries.
