Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership Degree Requirements

The Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Leadership is an interdisciplinary program that seeks to educate and inspire future leaders to lead positive change in our world.

The Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership degree comprises 120 credit hours. 

Core Curriculum 
A specific combination of coursework in English, Government, American History, Math, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Fine Arts.  

Major requirements
36 hours of coursework across three designated areas:

-Twelve hours of communication and leadership major courses;
-Twelve hours focusing on communication fundamentals and skills;
-Twelve hours of interdisciplinary courses that explore social issues.
-At least 15 hours must be in upper-division coursework.
-Each course may only be counted toward one area, unless topics vary. 

Moody College of Communication requirements 
-Language and Culture
-6 hours of Communication Foundations: COM 301E and COM 302E, taken in fall semester of first and second years of enrollment.

  • Students may not count more than 36 hours in one field of study.
  • Students may not earn both the Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership and the Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies.
