Waiving a College Degree Requirement or Rule
The degree requirements and rules of the Moody College and the University are in place to ensure the quality of our curriculum and your educational experience, and they are strictly enforced.
However, if you believe you have an extraordinary reason that would warrant an exception to one of these rules or requirements, you should consult your academic advisor to discuss the situation. To submit a petition for an exception, complete the General Appeal/Petition form, and explain in detail the unusual circumstances that you believe justify a waiver of the requirement or rule. A decision is usually made within two to three business days. You will be notified about the decision by a Secure Academic Note (SAN).
