Graduate Research Fellowships

The Research Fellowship application is open for currently enrolled students who need financial support in their final years of study and/or to pay for a specific research-related expense. 

Research Fellowship Details

  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester awarded.
  • Most Moody College of Communication graduate programs are eligible.
  • Other eligibility requirements may apply, depending on the fellowship.
  • A general call for submissions will go out each fall and spring semester. 
  • In the fall Graduate Research Fellowship application, students will be able to request small amounts to cover research-related costs and apply for larger fellowships intended to support students as they complete the last years of their degree. 
  • In the spring/summer Graduate Research Fellowship application, students will only be able to request small amounts to cover research-related costs.
  • Applications will be reviewed by each department/schools’ graduate studies committee and will select the recipients.
  • Award amounts vary; more details can be found on the application.
  • The larger fellowships are funded by the Graduate School and the award details vary. Selected recipients will be notified directly by the Graduate School. 
  • Recipients of the smaller fellowships will be notified of selection when the graduate committee awards them on LASSO.
