Graduate Travel Fellowships

The Graduate Travel Fellowship application is open year-round for students who need support for travel to academic conferences and film festivals. Each Moody school/department has different criteria and awarding processes. There is one general travel application for students who will then be funneled into the travel fellowships that they are eligible for. 

Travel Fellowship Details

  • Must be a Moody College of Communication graduate student. 
  • Must provide details about the conference/film festival. 
  • Other eligibility requirements may apply, depending on the fellowship.
  • A general call for submissions will go out early in the fall semester and will stay open until late summer of the following year.
  • Students can apply before or after their travel dates
  • Students may include details for multiple conferences/film festivals in their application. 
  • Most Moody College of Communication graduate programs are eligible
  • Applications are reviewed every other week by graduate studies committees
  • Amounts vary by fellowship
  • Awards are typically less than $1,000 
  • Awards are paid out throughout the year- as close as possible to your travel dates 
  • Recipients will be notified of selection as soon as the graduate studies committee awards them in LASSO
  • Disbursement dates vary according to when students accept their award in LASSO.
