Lanette Lehnertz Smith is a community volunteer, a philanthropist and a 1983 graduate of UT Austin with a bachelor’s in Advertising.

After leaving the world of advertising, she put her skills to work in the community. As a former development vice president for the Helping Hand Home for Children, Smith also served as administrative vice president and development vice president for the Junior League of Austin. Smith was also on the board of the Ronald McDonald House and the American Cancer Society.  She has spent many years on the Seton Development Board where she is currently serving as the President. While on the Seton Development Board she has raised funds for the neonatal intensive care unit, women’s breast cancer unit and the cardiac wing of the hospital. 

Currently she and her husband are on the Chancellor’s Council and her husband is a former Chairman of the Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee. She and her husband, Wallace, have two grown sons and one grown daughter. Their daughter is a 2015 graduate of Moody College with a degree in public relations.
