Lucky Lab Coffee Co. debuts at Cappy’s and Woffie’s cafes
White chocolate cherry latte. Cold foam blueberry matcha. Chai chocolate chip cookies. Italian pasta salad. Cold brew overnight oats.
That’s just a taste of what you can find now at Cappy’s Cafe and Woffie’s Coffee now that Moody College has brought on Lucky Lab Coffee Co. as their new coffee purveyor.
Students, faculty and staff can now enjoy the popular coffee shop’s drinks and treats at locations in the G.B. Dealey Center for New Media and Communication Building A.
Both cafes offer the full Lucky Lab menu, including its signature drinks, pastries and baked goods. They also have grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items like tacos and salads and vegan and gluten-free options. For those looking for a little spice this fall, Lucky Lab will soon unveil its pumpkin-flavored items.
The new Lucky Lab locations join a handful of others in buildings across campus.
“We are excited to bring our environment and vibe to Moody,” Lucky Lab founder Courtney Hutton said. “It’s been a warm welcome for us, and we look forward to being a part of this community.”
Lucky Lab’s flagship store opened on San Antonio Street in West Campus in 2015. Hutton started the business as a coffee truck, mostly catering weddings and events, before she decided to open the brick-and-mortar location.
The company is named for Hutton’s black lab, Lucky, who you may be able to see from time to time visiting the Moody cafes. “He goes to locations on campus for his office hours to bring a little cheer,” Hutton said.
Cappy’s Cafe and Woffie’s Coffee are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. this school year. Check out Lucky Lab’s menu on its website for more information about some of the goods you can now find at Moody.
