Natalie Czimskey, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at The University of Texas where she earned all three of her degrees. She began teaching as a doctoral student in 2012 and continued teaching part time until completing her Ph.D. in 2019 when she joined the faculty full-time.
Dr. Czimskey teaches a variety of courses, including: Introduction to SLHS, Phonetics, Anatomy & Physiology of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Introduction to Adult Disorders, Language and the Brain, Acquired Cognitive Disorders, and Counseling. Dr. Czimskey has a passion for teaching and currently explores research interests in pedagogy, instructor compassion, and student growth mindset. Her primary research area is adult neurogenic disorders with a special interest in emotional expression and perception in traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Czimskey lives in the Austin area with her husband, two kids and two dogs. She is the biggest Longhorn fan in the department and has an impressive collection of burnt orange regalia.
