Melissa Eccles is an Emmy nominated Creative Director, Writer and Producer. A digital and story geek with an expertise in immersion, engagement and fandom, her work is an alchemy of neuropsychology, world building, behavioral insights and technology. She has conceived and created award winning work for global franchises, studios and brands, along with innovative "firsts" across the entertainment and advertising industry. Select IPs include Game of Thrones, The Wizarding World (HP), the DC Universe, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and many others. Her client list includes HBO, Amazon, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, Audible, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal, Disney, A24, Legendary Pictures; as well as brands like Nike, MTV, Burger King, Apple, VW, Microsoft, Adidas, Google, Coca-Cola, Toyota, General Mills, American Express and more. Most recently Melissa was leading strategy and creative across entertainment, gaming, technology and sports within TikTok's Creative Lab for business.
Her work has been honored by the Cannes Lions, The Television Academy, The Clios, The One Club, The Webby Awards, Communication Arts, ProMax and others. Melissa's work is part of the permanent collections of multiple museums and cultural institutions. She often speaks about her work for companies, festivals and conferences including SXSW, Google, Microsoft Labs, the 4As, AIGA, film festivals and The International Space conference. She is a lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin and has been honored to sit on juries for the One Show, the LIAs, the Emmy Awards, ArsTechnica and more. Melissa works with educational institutions pro bono like the California Science Center, with whom she moved the space shuttle Endeavour through the streets of Los Angeles.
