Leslie Hall is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication Studies and teaches Communicating for Executive Leadership in the Communication and Leadership Degree (CLD) program. She is committed to authentic communication, organizational health, and practical, life-long learning.
Leslie has worked at the intersection of education practice, policy, and administration for over twenty years. As Assistant Commissioner for Project Management and Improvement at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, she built and led teams responsible for managing some of the highest-profile, highest-stakes initiatives at the agency, including the modernization of data resources and the transformation of multiple public-facing services.
In the University of Texas at Austin administration, she led change initiatives to improve educational quality and innovation and to transform service to students. Prior to her time at UT Austin, she worked at a private research and consulting firm, managing projects for philanthropic foundations, nonprofit organizations, and federal, state, and local education agencies across the country to increase students’ readiness, access, and success in postsecondary education. She began her career as a middle school teacher with Teach For America.
Leslie holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in Plan II and History from UT Austin.
