Katie Bradford (Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 2020) teaches undergraduate courses in communication principles and practices and an asynchronous course in rhetoric, “Communicating with Stuff.” Her research involves analyzing video-based data to explain how people integrate technology use into their face-to-face conversations. This analysis is the basis of her doctoral dissertation, “Moving Between the Conversation ‘at Hand’ and the ‘Handheld’ Conversation: Participation in Family Dinners with Smartphones.” Dr. Bradford previously worked for Prentice Hall / Pearson Education as a developmental editor of college textbooks, and later as a freelance editor of scholarly papers. She holds a B.A. in English from UT-Austin, and both an M.A. in English Linguistics and a Certificate in Scholarly Publishing from Arizona State University. LinkedIn Profile.
