Katie E. Bradford (Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 2020) teaches undergraduate courses in communication theory and practices. She trains her students to become introspective about their own perceptions and communication, and to develop excellent spoken and written communication skills for success beyond the classroom. Dr. Bradford also holds an administrative position in the Office of Career and Life Design, The Graduate School, designing and delivering workshops and collaborating with graduate students to connect their graduate education to their next life step in the professional work world. Bradford’s research analyzes video-based data to explain how people integrate smartphone use into face-to-face conversations. Trained in scholarly publishing, she is a professional editor who has collaborated with authors on their scholarly manuscripts and overseen the development of college textbooks (for Pearson Education). Dr. Bradford holds a B.A. in English from UT Austin, and an M.A. in English Linguistics and a Certificate in Scholarly Publishing from Arizona State University, and an ACUE Certificate in Effective College Instruction.
