Jason is a freelance producer, editor and writer who's been a part of more than 20 feature films that have been featured at the Sundance, SXSW and Cannes film festivals. His projects have received numerous awards, and in 2008, he was awarded an Independent Spirit Award for the feature narrative, August Evening. Jason’s other writing and producing credits include the documentaries J.R. “Bob” Dobbs & the Church of the SubGenius, The Russian Five, America's Parking Lot, Sir Doug & the Genuine Texas Cosmic Groove and An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story, as well as the narratives Slash, The Retrieval, Saturday Morning Massacre and Rogers Park. He has also supervised post production for projects like Horton Foote: The Road to Home, Vinyl Nation and Lazer Team 2.
Jason earned degrees in the Arts from Rice University in Houston, TX, and in the years since his graduation has worked in numerous production capacities. From 2001-2005, he served on the national programming team at PBS headquarters outside Washington, DC, and since relocating to Austin, he's worked as a producer of commercial video projects, broadcast television programming and the nationally distributed podcast, Tenfold More Wicked.
