Students following the 2016-2018 catalog, or an earlier catalog must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in a single language other than English.
Students following the 2018-2020 or 2020-2022 catalog must satisfy a language and culture requirement in one of the following ways: (a) Demonstrating intermediate proficiency in a single language other than English; (b) Taking two consecutive courses in one language and one approved culture course in a culture that is relevant to the language.
Students following the 2022-2024 catalog must satisfy a language and culture requirement in one of the following ways: (a) Demonstrating intermediate-level proficiency in a single language other than English; (b) Demonstrating beginning-level proficiency in a language other than English and taking one approved culture course in a culture that is relevant to the language.

Signature courses (UGS 302 or 303) may not count toward this requirement.
