Academic Advising

The Student Advising Office is an integral part of the Office of Undergraduate Education and our staff is dedicated to the success of all undergraduate students in the Moody College of Communication. We offer both scheduled appointments and drop-in advising. Schedule an appointment or check in for advising below. 

During fall, drop-in advising is unavailable on Wednesdays after 2:30 pm. 

Please be on time for your scheduled advising appointments, as the Student Advising Office enforces a ten-minute rule; if you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.

To check in for an Online Appointment, click on the button above. Within EAB Navigate 360, you will need to click on "Schedule an Appointment Today!" and follow these steps:

  1. Click "Appointments" on the left-side nav bar.

  2. When it's time for your appointment, click "Check In."

  3. Join the Zoom link that was included in your confirmation messaging.

  4. If you did not receive the Zoom link, message the advisor within EAB, and they can send it to you.

To check in for Online Drop-In Advising, click on the button above. Within EAB Navigate 360, you will need to click on "Schedule an Appointment Today!" and follow these steps:

  1. Click "View Drop-In Times."

  2. Select the Service Time that best explains the reason for your visit and click "Find Available Time."

  3. Click "Moody College Student Advising."

  4. Click "Check in with first available."

  5. An advisor will email and/or text you the Zoom link.

The “Schedule First Available Appointment” option will allow you to select a day and time of your choosing, and you will see which advisors are available at that time. To choose only from a specific advisor's availability, scroll down to the appropriate person and click on their “Schedule an appointment” link.

You may schedule an advising appointment a minimum of 24 hours ahead of time (online or in-person). If you schedule an in-person appointment, please arrive at DMC 2.600 ten minutes before your appointment time and check in on the kiosk; for online appointments, you will receive the Zoom link in your confirmation messaging.

To schedule a First Available appointment, click on the button below. Within EAB Navigate 360, you will need to click on "Schedule an Appointment Today!" and follow the prompts.

Advising Details

Non-Moody students who are interested in transferring into the Moody College and would like to meet with an academic advisor must visit our internal transfer information page and attend an internal transfer information session before they may meet with the Internal Transfer advisor during their posted internal transfer advising hours.

Drop-in advising with the Moody Minors Advisor is available for currently enrolled undergraduate students pursuing or exploring a Moody minor. Visit the Moody Minors page for information about advising availability.

To check in for a scheduled in-person appointment, use the check-in kiosk at DMC 2.600. Please arrive at DMC 2.600 before your appointment time. You will receive reminder emails one day and one hour before your scheduled appointment. You may schedule an advising appointment no less than 24 hours in advance.
