Web-Based Courses

Students considering enrolling in web-based courses offered by the Moody College may use this information for planning purposes.

Moody College student support services (academic advising, Writing Support Center, CARE counselor, etc.) are available to all degree-seeking students in the Moody College, even if they are enrolled only in web-based courses. Please contact the Student Advising Office for more information.

Tests: Generally, tests are scheduled at specific times and are taken online.  Students may be required to start the test at the same time or they may have a window of time to take the test in which there is also a time limit imposed.  Check your syllabus for detailed information.

ADV S 344K ADVERTISING RESEARCH-WB QR Working in advertising & PR requires a thorough understanding of how statistical, algorithmic, and qualitative methods are applied to gain insights about consumers and make informed business decisions. Yet many students begin without vast (or any) statistical knowledge or research experience. This course introduces complex methods gently to the novice while readying the student to implement them in real-world situations. The course consists of videos, quizzes, and data analysis assignments.
ADV S 345J ADVERTISING MEDIA PLANNING-WB QR; W Synchronous web conferences are held from 8:00  – 9:30 each week on Monday mornings beginning on the first day of class where attendance and participation are required for all five weeks. Asynchronous recorded lecture content and other downloadable materials will be delivered throughout the rest of each week Tuesday - Friday to meet the goals as discussed in detail on Mondays. As a quantitative and writing flag, this course also includes optional live and text-based chats, a major group project, several scheduled individual assignments, and asynchronous online discussions by request. Students are required to live attend either in person or via Skype their final group presentations the last day of class. Online exams are open each Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
