The Student Advising Office offers several flexible options for you to find the help and support you may need from our advising and administrative staff. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 5:00 and closed on University holidays.
Advising Appointments
Use STAR make an in-person or virtual appointment with your assigned academic advisor.
Drop-in Advising
During normal business hours, drop-in advising is available to Moody College students on the schedule posted here. The drop-in advisor may not be your assigned academic advisor.
During the two weeks of registration, all advisors see students on a drop-in basis only.
To see an advisor for drop-ins, you may log on here or from the check-in kiosk at DMC 2.600 (when in-person services are available). After you join the queue, you will receive instructions through text, so please watch your phone!
Students will be seen in the order in which they joined the queue. Be sure to join the queue early to make sure that you can be seen before drop-ins end. The queue will close when there are too many students to be seen by the posted end time.
Drop-in advising with the Moody Minors Coordinator is available for ALL students pursuing Moody minors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (CT).

How to see our front desk
In addition, our front desk is open on weekdays to help you navigate other university or Moody College policies or procedures. The front desk is open to assist you in-person (when in-person services are available) and virtually Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Central Time), with additional limited virtual services from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. On the first Friday of each month, drop-ins will begin at 12:00 noon (Central Time) Be sure to get in line early enough to ensure that you are helped before the office closes at 5:00 p.m.
During these posted hours, you can log on to join the Moody Help Desk queue to get help from the front desk in-person or to get help from the virtual front desk if you are not in the G. B. Dealey Center for New Media.
