The Student Advising Office is an integral part of the Office of Undergraduate Education and our staff is dedicated to the success of all undergraduate students in the Moody College of Communication. We offer both scheduled and drop-in advising. Schedule an appointment using STAR or read more about drop in advising below.
Virtual Appointments
Online meetings may be conducted through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. If you are meeting via a computer, you may access the virtual meeting through your web browser. If attempting to access the virtual meeting via smart phone, Microsoft Teams will need to be downloaded and can be accessed without a login.
In-Person Appointments
You may choose to schedule an in-person meeting. You must schedule an in-person appointment AT LEAST 24 hours ahad of time. If you schedule an in-person appointment, please arrive at DMC 2.600 10 minutes before your appointment time.
Please be on time
Please be on time for your advising appointments, as the Student Advising Office enforces a ten-minute rule for scheduled appointments. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.
Drop-In Advising
Mon: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (virtual only from 12:00-1:00 pm and 4:00-5:00 pm)
Tues: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (virtual only from 12:00-1:00 pm and 4:00-5:00 pm)
Wed: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm (virtual only from 12:00-1:00 pm)
Thurs: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (virtual only from 12:00-1:00 pm and 4:00-5:00 pm)
Fri: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (virtual only from 12:00-1:00 pm and 4:00-5:00 pm)
Advisors are seeing students on a drop-in basis only on the following dates:
April 8 - April 19
April 26 and April 29
During the first twelve class days and the two weeks of registration, all advisors see students on a drop-in basis only. Drop-in advising with the Moody Minors Coordinator is available for ALL students pursuing Moody minors on these days:
Tues and Wed: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Thurs: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Advising Details
Non-Moody students who are interested in transferring into the Moody College and would like to meet with an academic advisor must attend an internal transfer information session before they may meet with the Internal Transfer advisor during their posted internal transfer advising hours.
To check in for scheduled appointment you may log on here or from the check-in kiosk at DMC 2.600 (when in-person services are available). If you schedule an in-person appointment, please arrive at DMC 2.600 before your appointment time. You will receive reminder emails one day and one hour before your scheduled appointment. You may schedule an advising appointment no less than 24 hours in advance.
