You will be notified of the committee’s decision via the email address that you have on record with the University. Notifications are typically sent in late May and early January.
The number of accepted students varies each semester and depends on the number of students who graduate from the Moody College.
If your application is denied, it is considered as one use of the two allowed attempts to apply, per University policy. All decisions are final and may not be appealed. If you have exhausted your two attempts to apply, please see Wayfinder, or schedule an appointmet with an advisor at the Vick Center for Strategic Advising and Career Counseling to explore alternate major options.

Next Steps for Accepted Students
Congratulations! All students with approved applications must complete the following steps:
1. Confirm the new major
Once you successfully confirm your new major, you will be able to add/drop classes in your new major during the add/drop periods. (Please see your Registration Information Sheet for registration times.) Click on the link to the right to complete this step.
2. Internal Transfer Orientation
You must complete an online orientation module before you may schedule an appointment with an academic advisor in your new major. Click on the link to the right to complete orientation. Once you have completed orientation and claimed credit, please allow 3 business days for the Moody College to assign you to an academic advisor. After 3 days, you may log on to STAR to see who your advisor is and make an appointment.
3. Enroll in courses
Once your new major takes effect, you will be permitted to enroll in available courses in your new major. Newly-admitted students must enroll in courses at UT Austin in order for the major change to take effect. Check your Registration Information Sheet for your access times.
