“A desk is a dangerous place from which to view the world.” - John Le Carre
For Michael, there is no substitute for meeting people where they live, walking a mile in their shoes and seeing things firsthand. It’s what drew him to the business and keeps things interesting for him.
This “see things for yourself” approach has led to insights that have fueled some of the most recognizable and effective campaigns across a diverse range of categories.
For the last twenty-five years, Michael has helped bring the heart back to flying with Southwest, helped John Deere find greener pastures, challenged the beauty category with Dove, advocated on behalf of the independent investor with Charles Schwab, championed compassionate consumerism for HIV positive children with (RED), made the outdoors more accessible with REI, and celebrated homecoming every Saturday in the fall for the University of Texas.
When he’s not working, he can be found picking up his kids from school in a sidecar rig or in his study writing his first work in historical fiction, cheerfully called "Let It Die."
