Lisa Bennett is Executive Director of The Lab, a new experiential learning environment in the School of Advertising and Public Relations. The Lab provides students the opportunity to collaborate with clients on campaign projects in order to help them become better equipped for multi-faceted careers in advertising and public relations.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Lisa is a passionate, strategic, creative leader with over 30 years of experience at some of the world’s most recognized agency networks including Leo Burnett and DDB Worldwide. She has over 17 years of senior management experience in the roles of Chief Creative Officer, Global Creative Director and Managing Partner.
Lisa has transformed agencies, built highly successful creative departments, reinvented brands and led the charge on numerous successful global pitches. She’s had creative oversight on iconic brands such as McDonald’s, Disney, Coca-Cola, Clorox, McAfee, Intel, Universal Parks & Resorts, Texas Rangers and served as Global Creative Director on Heinz, Delta Airlines and Benefit Cosmetics. In addition, she’s been a brand consultant for e.l.f. Cosmetics, Angie’s Popcorn and Yahoo.
Over the years, Lisa has recruited, mentored and coached world-class talent. She developed a North American training program for creative leaders while in her role as EVP/Creative, DDB North America. She has guest lectured multiple courses in the Moody College of Communication and critiqued numerous TXC portfolio reviews.
Lisa’s work has received top recognition at major International award shows including a Gold Cannes Lion, D&AD Yellow Pencil, Gold Effie, a Webby Award and induction into the Clio Awards Hall of Fame. She has served on two Cannes Lions juries and executive juries for D&AD, One Show, Clio Awards, NY Festivals and Effie Awards. Lisa was recognized by Business Insider as one of the Most Creative Women in Advertising and by Ad Age as one of 21 to Watch in the 21st Century.
