Spring 2020 Virtual Commencement
Graduates, thank you for thinking big.
You give energy to Moody College by bringing collaboration and creativity into every day, and we will rely on that mindset to bring you a special and memorable Spring 2020 commencement.
On Saturday, May 23 at 2 p.m. Dean Jay Bernhardt will host an online community celebration of your academic accomplishments. Look forward to surprise guests and musical experiences, as well as inspirational messages and video highlights.
The ceremony broadcast web page will be available on Saturday, May 23.

Thank you for your patience and especially your willingness to be flexible and understanding as public health emergencies have created difficulty and hardship in your final college semester.
On-campus commencement ceremonies will be scheduled at a later date.
For the purpose of the virtual ceremony, current GPAs are being used and honors are based on the Class of 2019 (see table below).
Official University Honors will be posted to the transcript and diploma upon certification of all degree candidates. Class of 2020 Honor ranges will be calculated and posted online June 5.
Highest Honors: 3.9378 – 4.0
High Honors: 3.8635 – 3.9377
Honors: 3.7659 – 3.8634
(Pertains to students graduating in Spring 2019 through December 2019.)
To qualify for honors you must have completed at least 60 hours at The University of Texas at Austin and be in the top 20 percent of your Moody College graduating class.
The GPA required to graduate with University Honors is recomputed each May based on the top 20 percent of the May graduation class following regulations listed in the Undergraduate Catalog. This same GPA applies to the following August and December graduation classes. The required minimum GPA may be higher than that listed in the catalog. For further information, please contact your academic advisor or consult the Graduation with University Honors section of the General Information Catalog.
If you wish to participate in the virtual commencement, please make sure to submit your graduation application by May 1.
You will then receive an email so you can register to attend and create your personal slide.
