The Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley are excited to invite you to attend the second partner installment of The State of the Rio Grande Valley Conference, on September 18-20, 2019.
Thanks to the support and collaborative efforts of faculty, staff, and student organizations, this student-led initiative has grown into a three-day conference. This year's program will be a combination of career fairs and panels on both the Edinburg and Brownsville campus. Students will have the opportunity to explore career opportunities available in public service and learn about issues affecting the Rio Grande Valley community. The conference will connect students to elected officials and civic leaders and encourage them to pursue leadership roles in their community.
Conference panels include:
· RGV: Stories from the Border
· Our Voice: Regional Research, U.S. Census 2020 & Beyond
· Road to 2020: Legislative Updates & Voting
· Career Impact: Expanding your horizons
