Are you an aspiring social media influencer who is always in the know about what’s trending and who said what? Do your friends look to you for trending news updates? The Texas Tribune Festival and the New Politics Forum are excited to offer students a unique opportunity to serve as social media ambassadors at the upcoming Festival in Austin, Texas on September 27 - 29, 2018.
Through the social media ambassador program, select students will have unique access to conversations and civic leaders guiding our state's and our nation's next steps, including more than 250 leading figures in politics and public policy. Through the program, students will serve as on-the-ground correspondents, detailing the sights and sounds of all things Festival on their social media platforms.
Program perks include a complimentary pass to the Festival, elevated social media presence during the event, access to select speakers and leaders on request, and lots of free food!
Requirements for the program include:
Represent the New Politics Forum and The Texas Tribune in a nonpartisan, professional manner
Attend all three days of the Tribune Festival, especially the #TTFstudents events, which include the BreakFESTs, social media ambassador-specific meet-ups during the Fest, and Lunch n' Learn on Saturday, Sept. 29th (location and time for all TBA)
Generate student-focused content using the #TTFstudents and #NPFxTrib hashtags for social media including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
Network with young people in attendance and gather email addresses from those who are interested in connecting with the New Politics Forum and Texas Tribune
* Students who are interested in attending the Festival but can only make two days are encouraged to reach out to Taylor Foody with any scheduling concerns. We welcome any student who promises full, active participation in at least two days of the Fest to apply!
