What are Executive Communication Trainings?

Founded in 2008, Executive Communication Trainings (ECT) are political communication trainings that help professionals rise above the noise to get heard, make their point, and win the fight. Our mission is to empower political professionals to use strategic communication on behalf of the interests of their consumers and their communities.

Our workshops are designed to support professionals already working in advocacy-related jobs, as well as those interested in pursuing a career in public leadership, by showing them how to cut through the noise of the 24-hour news cycle, online blogosphere, and crowded issue field, by crafting a message that is sharp, disciplined, and resonates with the audience you need most.

Our participants have attended our training to enrich their skills in communicating to these audiences:

Our Competitive Advantage

The Annette Strauss Institute draws upon the resources of a leading Texas research University, the expertise of prominent researchers and Institute Fellows in media and politics, and project staff with over 30 years of combined legislative experience. We have the ability to tailor our political communication trainings to the needs of business associations and non-profit organizations to support advocates in influencing public priorities and policy.

Our Executive-level workshops have received outstanding accolades, like the following from Lou Goodman, Ph.D., Executive Vice President/CEO of the Texas Medical Association:

“My members and I were extremely pleased with the quality and extent of great information on how to better communicate the important issues for your association. I strongly recommend this seminar to anyone wanting to improve their members’ abilities to advocate before decision-makers and the public.”
