Center for Advancing Teaching Excellence: Inclusive Teaching & Learning

Inclusive Teaching Learning Community

CATE is facilitating a “Small Changes for Inclusivity” learning community for Moody faculty to learn about and practice inclusive pedagogy. We'll provide information and support to faculty who want to make their teaching more inclusive, and to provide time and space to work within a community of peers and colleagues to self-evaluate, discuss, plan, and implement small, specific changes in their fall 2021 courses.

CATE's Commitment to Inclusive Teaching and Learning

The Moody College Center for Advancing Teaching Excellence (CATE) is dedicated to supporting inclusive teaching among all members of teaching teams. We believe inclusive teaching benefits all students by fostering environments where every learner has equitable opportunities to optimize their learning, to feel equally valued, and to achieve their goals. At CATE, we lead with an inclusive teaching approach that permeates all aspects of the resources and services we provide.

What can you do?

Inclusive teaching benefits all students and can be incorporated into any and all new and existing courses. There are many small things that you can do to make your classrooms and your teaching more inclusive that don't require a lot of additional time and work. Inclusive Teaching Works!

The way that she conducts her class encourages students to challenge stereotypes and boundaries. She is extremely funny and authentic too! [She] is an incredible professor and should be an example to all others in how she creates an inclusive and active community that works together to dissect societal norms.
