CCS uses an online system called CareerSource to manage our job and internship postings, on-campus interviewing program, and resume referral services. CareerSource provides employers the ability to post jobs and internships directly to the College and maintain these postings, conduct searches on the CCS resumé database and download resumes, and manage the pre-screening and selection of candidates for on-campus interviewing. CareerSource is password protected.
CareerSource DIsclaimer: Please note that job and internship listings/opportunities are presented as a service to students registered with CCS. While we evaluate and approve or reject job postings based on our recruiting policies, we cannot guarantee the validity and/or accuracy of the job information posted. It is the job seeker's responsibility to independently review all postings, organizations, contracts, and job offers. Students and alumni can report job posting-related issues and scams to Communication Career Services at 512-471-9421. Learn more about employment scams at the Federal Trade Commission website.
Employer, contact and job information in CareerSource is made available for the sole purpose of job or internship searching. This information is not to be used for any purpose other than the job or internship search.
Communication Job & Internship Fairs are held each year during the spring and fall semesters. Typically, 65-100 employers attend these events to meet, recruit, and interview communication students and alumni for job and internship opportunities. The Job & Internship Fairs also offer the opportunity to network with representatives from various employers.
Each year, CCS hosts up to 50 employers interviewing students for a wide range of entry-level positions and internships. Interviews take place in the CCS office (BMC 2.302) in one of our interviews suites. Review the Calendar of Events, and the ‘On-Campus Interviews’ section of CareerSource for interviewing opportunities, Industry Talks, and application deadlines.
*No-Shows and Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are taken very seriously as it is disrespectful to the recruiter and students that missed out on the opportunity. All no-shows are required to compose a letter of apology to the interviewer, which you can email or deliver a hardcopy of the letter to CCS and it will be forwarded it to the recruiter. Any No-Shows or Late Cancellations will have their CareerSource account de-activated and will be suspended from all CCS on-campus interviewing and other services until the apology is received by CCS.
Just upload your resume and we take it from there!
Here's how it works: An employer is interested in hiring a specific group of students--say, Public Relations majors that graduate in May 2019. If you have an active CareerSource profile, have elected the ‘Include in Resume Books’ options in your Profile, and have uploaded a resume, we submit your resume to them for consideration. If they’re interested in interviewing you, you’ll be contacted for an interview.
Get started by creating or updating your CareerSource profile and uploading a resume today. Choose ‘Yes’ when asked if you want to allow employer viewing.
