Career Advising

Career advisors are available to assist you in exploring your career options, with the job/internship search process, and as you consider law school, graduate school or other additional education. Drop-in career advising is available during the fall and spring semesters.

To schedule an appointment for one-on-one career advising, log into STAR, call, or come by the CCS office.

CareerSource

CareerSource is an online database containing job and internship opportunities. To register with CareerSource, submit a "Forgot Password" request to set a profile password. You will be directed to fill out your CareerSource user profile. After you have completed all required fields and submit your updated profile, your registration with CareerSource will be complete. (Note: CareerSource is available to current Moody College of Communication students and alumni up to 1year.)

Each year, CCS hosts over 200 employers on campus through on-campus interviews, Career Advice To-Go sessions, and Communication Job & Internship Fairs to meet, recruit and interview communication students and alumni for job and internship opportunities. Review the CCS Calendar or CareerSource for interviewing opportunities, Industry Talks, and application deadlines.

CCS offers interview space for your next phone or Skype interview! Call us today to reserve a room! (Reservations must be submitted at least 48-hours in advance. Subject to room availability.) Students can also access career search guides, career fair information, and book an appointment through the UTCCS mobile app.


Career Connect-Employer Site Visits

Career Connect is a multi-day event that provides Moody students the opportunity to visit employer offices in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, with the possibility of expanding to further cities. The program exposes students to recruiters working in positions and companies in which they are interested and allows them to obtain insight into the professional world.

Wofford Denius Music Industry Program

Each spring semester, communication students who wish to pursue summer internships in the music industry in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, or Nashville can apply for financial assistance through the Wofford Denius Music Industry Internship Program.
