Albino

Judith Albino, behavioral health researcher and higher education leader, has been named the 1992-93 College of Communication Outstanding Alumnus.

Albino earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a doctorate in psychology at The University of Texas at Austin.

Albino has served as president of two higher education systems (the University of Colorado and Alliant International University) and at the dean and vice-presidential levels. She has spent more than 25 years as a faculty member in schools of dentistry and medicine, as well as departments of psychology and educational psychology.

Albino is also active in behavioral health research and has made important contributions to the understanding of psychosocial aspects of oral health and factors in primary prevention of dental disease. Her research in behavioral aspects of health and disease has resulted in numerous scientific publications and presentations. She has also provided consulting services on leadership development, executive team building and strategic planning for universities across the country.

Albino’s leadership has extended to community and nonprofit groups and she has served on numerous corporate and civic boards. She has also been an officer and served on governance groups of numerous professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Federation of Psychological, Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences, the American Association for Dental Research, the American Council on Education, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Society of Psychologists in Management, a group for which she recently served as president.
