David Weeks, political and corporate consultant extraordinaire, has been named the 2007-08 College of Communication Outstanding Alumnus.
Weeks earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves on the McDonald Observatory Board of Visitors, the Texas Exes Advisory Board and the College of Communication Advisory Council. Weeks also lectures at the university and within the college, speaking on a variety of issues regarding his profession and political clients.
With more than 35 years of experience in political and corporate consulting Weeks has advised Fortune 500 companies, handled media relations and public relations across the country and served as media consultant in political campaigns ranging from city council to the United States Senate. He also serves on the Texas Legislative Conference Advisory Committee and is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
Weeks, a former gubernatorial press aide and speechwriter, founded Weeks&Co and currently serves as president and partner. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, with offices in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Washington, D.C., Weeks&Co is among the most experienced and successful corporate and political communication firms in the country. Weeks&Co is currently celebrating its 27th year of providing political and corporate consulting. In 2000 Weeks&Co endowed a Presidential Scholarship in the college.
