Richard Staff

Rick Staff (Houston, TX) has more than 25 years of commercial litigation experience and international regulatory compliance experience. He represents domestic and international concerns in complex commercial disputes and in a wide range of internal and government investigations and enforcement actions involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and regulations of the Office of Foreign Control and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in matters as diverse as years-long government enforcement actions involving the alleged bribery of high-ranking officials of foreign state-owned oil companies to the fixed-fee vetting of foreign agents and distributors for compliance purposes in foreign countries around the globe. His compliance and litigation skill set is drawn from the more than 50 major jury and bench trials he has taken to verdict in his career, in major metropolitan areas and in the smallest counties in the country, and in disputes ranging from the $100 million breach of supply contracts, the destruction of multi-million dollar oil wells and the personal injury claims of thousands of workers in South America, Asia and Africa.
