Get Help from Student Advising

The Student Advising Office offers a several flexible options for you to find the help and support you may need from our advising and administrative staff.

Advising Appointments

Use STAR make an in-person or virtual appointment with your assigned academic advisor.

Drop-in Advising

Drop-in Advising to Moody College students Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) On the first Friday of each month, drop-ins will begin at 9:30 a.m. (Central Time) The drop-in advisor may not be your assigned academic advisor.

To see the drop-in advisor in person, you may join the In-Person Drop-In queue from the check-in kiosk at DMC 2.600. After you join the queue, you will receive instructions through text, so please watch your phone!

To see the drop-in advisor on Zoom, you may join the Virtual Drop-In Advising queue. (Do not click on a "General Help" queue. You can join the Virtual Drop-In Queue directly.) After you join the queue, you will receive instructions through text, so please watch your phone!

How to see our front desk

In addition, our front desk is open on weekdays to help you navigate other university or Moody College policies or procedures. The front desk is open to assist you in-person and virtually Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Central Time), with additional limited virtual services from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. On the first Friday of each month, drop-ins will begin at 9:30 a.m. (Central Time) Be sure to get in line early enough to ensure that you are helped before the office closes at 5:00 p.m.

During these posted hours, you can log on to join the appropriate queue to get help from the front desk in-person or to get help from the virtual front desk if you are not in the G. B. Dealey Center for New Media.

After you join the queue, you will receive instructions through text, so please watch your phone! 

If you join the General Help for In-Person Visitors queue, you will see a member of our front desk team in person. If you join the General Help for Virtual Visitors, you will be sent a meeting ID where you can meet with a member of our front desk team on Zoom.
