Blake Evans

Born and raised in Enid Oklahoma, Blake Evans graduated from Texas Christian University in 1986 with a BFA in TV/Cinema. He began his career as a camera assistant upon receiving a Masters Degree in Cinematography from the American Film Institute in 1989. After 5 years as an operator, his first feature as Director of Photography was CHEYENNE WARRIOR for Producer Roger Corman. Since then, he has lensed 15 features in 7 different countries.  Later, he began shooting network television for CBS. His stint on THE DISTRICT lasted 4 years and 43 episodes of the cop drama. When approached by the producers to start directing, Blake became a member of the Directors Guild of America and helmed one episode in the final season. He has since shot numerous pilots for ABC and FOX and photographed JAKE IN PROGRESS, BIG DAY, NOTES FROM THE UNDERBELLY, SAMANTHA WHO?  and SCRUBS for ABC.

Blake penned the original story and screenplay for the feature film FLYBOYS, joining the Writers Guild of America in 2005.  Released by MGM in 2,400 theaters in September of 2006, it was hailed by critics as "One of the most entertaining movies of the year" (Jim Svejda, CBS Radio) and "So entertaining, so exhilarating, It left me walking on air" (Gene Shalit, Today Show). Blake is currently shooting the ABC show THE MIDDLE.
